about me
i was born and raised in newfoundland and labrador with a well and a wood stove. while finishing grade 12 my sister died unexpectedly. amongst the grief i decided to dedicate my life to serving teenagers and their families as they navigate the heartbreaks, uncertainties, and wonderment of being an adolescent.
since july 2016 I have worked with hundreds of individuals, their partners, their caregivers, and the systems they move throughout as a child and family therapist. i have a BA, BSW, and MSW, over 15 thousand hours of clinical experience, and countless trainings.
as a mad person and participant in psychoanalysis i believe in the healing power of healthy relationships. that connection, being seen, being in conversation, and in discomfort with support can allow us to recognize patterns and narratives that no longer serve us.
together we can uncover things once hidden, once useful, and forge new pathways that integrate our humanity - without shame.
we can shift:
unhealthy boundaries
unhelpful core beliefs
obsessive behaviours
anxious behaviours
unhelpful thought patterns
unhealthy self image
chronic feelings of fear, worthlessness, self hatred
unhealthy relationships with stress and worry
self abandonment and rejection
therapy should be about confronting the unknown that is shaping our trouble(s) and illuminating what has been darkened by shame. together we can reframe all of who you are so you can enjoy being who you already are - yourself.
